Kerala government has given permission to reopen schools from November 1, 2021. Kerala Colleges will also be reopening from October 4, 2021. The government has allowed these educational institutions to reopen in stages. The government plans to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12, as well as colleges for students in their final semesters of undergraduate and postgraduate, UG, PG courses.

Kerala schools and colleges will reopen keeping in mind all the Covid-19 safety protocols. In a recent order, Higher Education Department Joint Secretary Sajukumar announced the reopening of colleges. This follows Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's official order on September 7. Final Semester PG students will be able to attend classes at 100% capacity, but Final Semester UG students will only be allowed to attend offline classes at 50% capacity, according to the norms.
