KCET 2016 Seat Allotment Process: No Seats Available For Admission

The seat allotment process by the Karnataka Examination Authority is creating confusion for aspiring engineering and medical students. To the students surprise, the KEA has not published the seat matrix. There were absolutely no seats available for admissions.

The seat allotment process for KCET 2016 examination for various professional courses began on June 14, 2016.

Aspiring students and their parents are sceptical about the seat allotment process to be done by the KEA this year. This year the KEA has plans to cater or allot seats only to 16 government colleges for admissions.

Candidates opting for seats from special category will be allotted only to those who mentioned their categories in their KCET 2016 application forms. The special categories are NCC, Sports Quota and Physically Handicapped. The categorisation from the student's end was expected to be done at the time of registration to the common entrance test 2016.

The seat allotment process for the other colleges is still uncertain from the government's end.

Due to this uncertainty and clarity, many students aspiring for medical seats have opted for engineering seats instead. This has happened mostly with respect to the government seats.

KCET 2016: No Seats Available For Admission

In spite of clear instructions from the KEA during the practice session of the seat allotment process, students have struggled to login as most of them have been using their secret code to register instead of the their CET application number.

The helplines are engaged as students are contacting to resolve their problems regarding seat allotment.

Also, this year with the NEET issue round the corner, the MCI has issued permission to the government medical and dental colleges to issue seats for 2016-17.

KCET 2016 was held for admissions into various professional courses for the year 2016-17. The examination was scheduled to be held from May 4, 2016 to May 6, 2016. KCET is a common entrance examination conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) of the Government of Karnataka. The entrance test is conducted to offer admission in various undergraduate professional courses in the colleges of Karnataka.
