Amid the current Covid-19 situation, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka C N Ashwath Narayan has decided to rule out the possibility of holding examinations in an online mode for students of higher classes. The announcement has been made after several students and parents demanded to conduct the exams online this year.

"Conducting online examinations is not possible in the present system. The exams will be conducted in offline mode only. Though few deemed institutes would be able to conduct exams online, in the government set-up, conducting online exams is not possible," said Narayan.
"Due to the ongoing bus strike, the timetable for the degree, post-graduation, diploma, and engineering exams has been affected a bit. However, the exams would resume immediately once the strike ends," added Narayan.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka has also announced that there will be no change in the schedule of the upcoming college and university examinations and other academic activities.
The Minister also said that after the exams get over, the new session will begin immediately and there will be no summer holidays this year. Once the pandemic is brought under control, the students can attend physical classes or through online mode.
