Amid rising cases of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, students and parents are demanding to postpone the JEE Main and NEET exam 2020. Looking at the prevailing circumstances received from students and parents, the Union Human Resource Development Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank formed a committee consisting of NTA's DG and other experts. The Committee reviewed the situation and submited its recommendations to the HRD Ministry.
HRD Minister has postponed the JEE Main Exam 2020, JEE Advanced Exam 2020 and NEET 2020 exam considering the safety of students. The entrance exams will be held in September 2020.

- Education Minister Nishank postponed the JEE Main, JEE Advanced and NEET exam.
- The JEE Main will be held from September 1 to 6 and JEE Advanced on September 27. The NEET will be held on September 13.
- HRD Minister will be announcing the decision regarding the JEE Main and NEET exam scheduled in July.
- The sources suggest that the entrance exams will be postponed until the situation gets better.

Supreme Court On NEET Exam 2020
As per the reports, some parents from the Middle East countries filed a plea in the Supreme Court demanding the new exam centre outside India or postpone the exam till the situation improves. They also filed a petition to provide new exam centre for the students from Doha, Qatar, Dubai, UAE and other middle east countries. The parents appeal the Apex Court to intervene. A similar plea had been filed before the Kerala High Court which was rejected.

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) entrance exams are believed to be the toughest entrance exams for Class 12 graduates conducted annually for admission to engineering and medicine.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) deferred the exam dates of JEE Main (April) and NEET scheduled in April and May due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic followed by the nation-wide lockdown.
The NTA has released the revised exam schedule for NEET 2020 and JEE Main (April) 2002 session. The JEE Main scheduled from July 18 to 23. The NEET 2020 scheduled on July 26.
With the daily increase in COVID-19 cases in the country, students and parents demand to postpone the entrance exam date until the situation gets better.
Earlier, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the pending exams of Class 10 and 12 scheduled between July 1 and 15. The CBSE has informed the Supreme Court that remaining subjects or papers cannot be conducted and students will be promoted based on the internal assessment. The board also releases the alternative assessment scheme. The CISCE has followed the CBSE regarding the pending board exams.
