Students, who had appeared for the IIT JEE Advanced 2016 now have a reason to cheer.
Indian Institute of Technologies have introduced partial marking scheme from this academic year. According to the new scheme, students will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer in a multiple choice question, if it has multiple answers.
The scheme will help students to secure marks in 48 questions out of 108, including both JEE Advanced paper 1 and JEE Advanced paper 2.
Whereas during previous years, students were awarded with negative marks if he/she had not marked all the right answers.
For eg: If the question number 8 in paper 1 has A and C as right answers. Students, who have marked both the answer will be awarded with full marks and those, who have marked only A or C will also be given marks.
According to TOI, professor, who is associated with JEE Advanced 2016 said, "We have done so to allow students to score even if they have managed to deliberate and get one right answer. We are getting positive feedback. Earlier, if all right answers were not marked, students got negative marks."
Students, who are happy over the new scheme said that they could managed to score few marks or else would have lost full marks.
