Jamia Millia Islamia's Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) has extended the application deadline for the 2024-25 academic session to September 7, giving prospective students more time to apply. Originally set for August 31, this extension allows applicants extra time to complete their applications.

After submitting their online admission forms, applicants will be required to attend document verification sessions between September 17 and September 27. Specific instructions for this process will be communicated via email, so applicants should regularly check their inboxes for updates.
It is crucial for applicants to carefully read the prospectus and ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting their forms. For certain undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that require entrance tests, notifications will be issued later. Notably, the MBA entrance test, initially scheduled earlier, has now been rescheduled to September 22 and will take place on the JMI campus.
Jamia Millia Islamia offers several programmes exclusively through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode, which provides flexibility for students who are unable to attend regular classes. These include programmes such as MBA, MA in Human Resource Management (HRM), MA in Geography, MA in Islamic Studies, Bachelor of Commerce (BCIBF), and Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Instruction (PGDGI). For those appearing for the MBA entrance test, hall tickets can be downloaded from the examination portal one week before the exam date, giving candidates ample time to prepare and make necessary arrangements.
The CDOE at JMI offers a wide range of programmes, including postgraduate courses in subjects such as Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, HRM, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Urdu, and Commerce (M.Com). At the undergraduate level, courses include Bachelor of Arts (B.A. General), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), and BCIBF.
Additionally, the centre offers postgraduate diploma courses like PGDGC and PGDGI, diploma courses such as DECCE, and certificate programmes including CCHNT and CIT. Admissions to these programmes are based on merit, determined by the marks obtained in qualifying exams.
This extension provides prospective students with additional time to complete their applications and gather the necessary documents for verification. It also allows students who may have missed the initial deadline a second chance to apply, making the admission process more inclusive.
Applicants are advised to prepare all required documents in advance to ensure a smooth verification process. Staying updated through email notifications will be crucial to navigating this phase efficiently. By extending the deadline, Jamia Millia Islamia demonstrates its commitment to making education more accessible, particularly through its distance learning options. This move ensures that more students have the opportunity to benefit from the university's diverse academic offerings.
