Manish Sisodia Unveils Internship Program To Engage Youth In Delhi Elections

Manish Sisodia has initiated an internship program to engage youth in the democratic process during the Delhi assembly elections. The initiative offers students hands-on experience in political campaigning, aiming to enhance their understanding of leadership, public sentiment, and the electoral system.

In a recent initiative to engage the youth in the democratic process, Manish Sisodia, a senior leader from AP, announced the commencement of an internship program aimed at involving students in the electoral campaign for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. This program, dubbed 'Internship with Manish Sisodia', seeks to offer participants a real-world glimpse into the workings of elections, leadership, and the broader mechanics of democracy. Launched on December 21, the initiative caught the attention of numerous students nationwide, with about 1,000 applications received, out of which 100 were chosen to support Sisodia's campaign in the Jangpura constituency.

The selected interns will play a pivotal role in the election campaign, taking on a variety of tasks ranging from managing war rooms and conducting field research to engaging directly with the electorate. This hands-on approach not only aims to bolster Sisodia's electoral efforts but also provides a unique educational opportunity for the interns. By immersing themselves in the practical aspects of political campaigning, they stand to gain invaluable insights into the challenges and intricacies of the electoral process.

"I had posted on social media that I am contesting elections from Jangpura and would love for the youth, especially college students, to join me and do an internship," Sisodia remarked. He elaborated on the goals of the program, emphasizing the desire for participants to gain a deep understanding of leadership dynamics, public sentiment, and the electoral system's role in empowering democracy. "The aim is for them to understand how leaders work, how the public thinks, the challenges of the electoral process, and how elections serve as a powerful tool for democracy. They should observe closely, learn, and gain valuable insights," he stated.

Sisodia also shared experiences from his interactions with the interns, highlighting the diverse backgrounds from which they hail. Students specializing in fields such as social work, technology, marketing, and engineering have joined the program from various parts of India, including Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and the southern states. This diversity not only enriches the campaign with a variety of perspectives but also underscores the program's appeal across a broad spectrum of the youth.

Reflecting on the potential outcomes of this initiative, Sisodia expressed optimism about the interns' growth and the contributions they could make. "I am hopeful that over the next month or month and a half, they will not only develop leadership skills by working with me but will also offer valuable feedback, and take away significant learning. Most importantly, they will gain a deeper understanding of the electoral process and democracy," he added. This statement encapsulates the dual objective of the internship: to support Sisodia's electoral campaign while fostering a generation of informed and engaged citizens equipped with firsthand experience of democracy in action.

In conclusion, the internship program launched by Manish Sisodia represents a novel approach to political campaigning, one that integrates education, engagement, and empowerment. By drawing students into the heart of electoral politics, it seeks to demystify the process and inspire a deeper appreciation for democracy's foundational principles. As the campaign for the Delhi assembly polls progresses, the interns' involvement will not only shape the immediate electoral outcomes but also leave a lasting impact on their understanding of political participation.
