The Ghaziabad district administration has announced the closure of all schools on Friday, July 10, 2026, due to continuous rainfall and unfavorable weather conditions. Ghaziabad Schools Closed Today Amid Continuous Rainfall; Holiday Declared for Classes 1 to 12

According to the official notification, the holiday applies to students from Classes 1 to 12 studying in all government, council, and recognised private schools, including institutions affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, and other education boards. The order has been issued following the directions of the District Magistrate, Ghaziabad, with child safety being the top priority.

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an orange alert for Ghaziabad, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and the possibility of hailstorms. Although the IMD website currently shows 'No Warning' for the district, authorities decided to keep schools closed after reviewing the impact of the persistent rainfall and weather conditions experienced over the past several days.

The official order stated that the decision was taken to ensure safe school operations and to avoid any inconvenience or risk to children caused by waterlogging, slippery roads, traffic disruptions, and reduced visibility during heavy rain. District officials have urged school managements to strictly comply with the closure order and inform parents and students through their respective communication channels.

Parents have been advised not to send their children to school and to rely only on official announcements regarding the reopening of educational institutions. Students facing any confusion regarding the holiday or school-related activities have been asked to contact their respective school administrations for clarification.

The district administration has also appealed to residents to remain cautious while travelling, avoid unnecessary movement during periods of intense rainfall, and follow weather updates issued by the IMD and local authorities. Emergency services remain on alert to respond to any weather-related incidents.

With the monsoon remaining active across parts of northern India, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. Further decisions regarding school operations will be taken based on the latest weather forecasts and the prevailing conditions in the district. Residents are advised to stay informed through official government advisories and prioritize safety until the weather improves.
