The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has partnered with the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) to launch a two-day certificate course for trainers. The Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India support this initiative.

Alignment with National Education Policy 2020 (NEP):
The program aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP), which mandates that all teachers and head teachers must complete 50 hours of continuous professional development annually. Under the Ministry of Education's guidance, CBSE aims to train approximately 15,000 Resource Persons (RPs) in multiple batches.
Comprehensive Focus on Educator Development:
The course is structured around critical components such as Direct Trainers Skills (DTS), Design of Training (DoT), and Integrated Approaches to Child and Adolescent Development. A pilot program for this curriculum was initiated on August 23, marking the beginning of this extensive training effort.
This initiative also addresses the broader needs of 1.3 million teachers in CBSE-affiliated schools. By leveraging the expertise of trained resource persons, the program aims to significantly enhance the quality of education across the country. The course is offered free of charge, and participants receive a certificate jointly signed by CBSE and ISTM.
Impact on Educational Quality:
By focusing on these key areas, the collaboration between CBSE and ISTM is expected to bring about substantial improvements in teaching methodologies within CBSE-affiliated schools. This initiative highlights the importance of continuous professional development in empowering educators to meet the evolving demands of the education sector.
This partnership represents a significant step forward in achieving the objectives outlined in NEP 2020, ensuring that educators are well-equipped to provide high-quality education to students across India.
