CSIR UGC NET Exam 2023 Begins Today: Know More

Today, June 6, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) session exams for December 2022 and June 2023. The NTA CSIR NET 2023 examinations will take place in two shifts. The first session is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the second is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. To the examination hall, candidates must bring their CSIR UGC NET admit card as well as valid identity evidence. The candidate must arrive at the examination centre between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The CSIR 2023 exam will be administered in both Hindi and English.

CSIR NET

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is the full name of the CSIR NET. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers a national-level exam to select applicants for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and to establish their eligibility for lecturing jobs in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates who pass the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) NET exam can only become lecturers in the Science and Technology faculty.

Exam Pattern

  • The examination will last three hours.
  • There is no gap between the three sections.
  • The examination is worth 200 points.
  • Negative marking of 25% (33.3% for a few areas) for each incorrect answer

Result

Fellowships will be awarded based on the CSIR merit list. Only those candidates who meet the cut-off will be considered for the final merit list. NTA will publish two distinct merit lists on its website for JRF and Lectureship results. Candidates who make the JRF merit list will be considered for the Lectureship/Assistant Professor fellowship as well.
