The Senior Secondary Curriculum for the Academic Year 2024-2025 has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The most recent curriculum for Classes 11 and 12 can likely be obtained at cbseacademic.nic.in, the official website.

CBSE Curriculum for Academic Year 2024-25: Subject Offered and Exam Pattern:
The following is the format of the secondary school curriculum:
- Hindi or English must be studied as one of the two languages in grades eleven and twelve.
- Students have the option of selecting Hindi Core (Code-302) or Hindi Elective (Code 002), or English Core (Code-301), and English Elective (Code-001). A language cannot be offered at both the core and elective levels.
- The following subjects cannot be studied simultaneously:
-Combining Business Administration (Code 833) and Business Studies (Code 054) is not allowed.
-Applicants may choose only one of the three IT/computer science-related subjects: Information Technology (Code 802), Computer Science (Code 083), and Informatics Practices (065).
-Applied Mathematics (Code 241) and Mathematics (Code 041).
- The subjects that appear first in the chronological subject list on the Mark Sheet or online registration system are considered to be the main subjects.
- A student can additionally choose one more elective. This elective might consist of any other optional subject or a language. Any subject can be paired with a skill elective, depending on the study schedule.
- The policies of the college or institution will decide the percentage of candidates who take six out of seven subjects and pass all seven subjects.
- The prerequisites of the college or institution where the candidate is applying for admission will decide the percentage of candidates who take six out of seven subjects and pass each one of those subjects.
- When a student completes six subjects and fails any of the first five, the sixth subject will be selected in its place, provided the candidate completes the study plan. In this case, Hindi or English will continue to be two of the key five subjects.
The classes that students intend to continue in class 12 do not need to be enrolled in separately in classes 11 and 12, as they are integrated into one. Students may select to enroll in a minimum of five subjects for class 11. There will be theoretical, internal assessment, or practical components to the assessment plan, as per each subject's syllabus.
The curriculum also states that the State Boards in question choose which textbooks should be utilized in classes 11 and 12 when it comes to regional languages. Additionally, schools are required to inform CBSE of any modifications made to the texts by the individual State Boards at the beginning of the school year. The curriculum textbooks that the CBSE has required must also be strictly followed by the schools. Modifications are not going to take impact unless CBSE notifies of improvements. Any issue arising from the school's defiance of the board's directives shall be the school's concern.
