The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the much-anticipated schedule for Class 10th and 12th practical examinations, marking a critical phase in the academic year. According to the announcement, practical exams will kick off on January 1, 2025, followed by the theoretical exams starting on February 15, 2025. This detailed timetable was shared on the official CBSE website, providing students and schools with essential guidelines.

To accommodate schools that observe a winter break, CBSE has made special arrangements. For these institutions, practical exams will be conducted between November 5 and December 5, 2024. This ensures that students from both winter and non-winter zones have ample time to complete their practical assessments. CBSE has also issued comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and clear guidelines to facilitate the smooth execution of Practical Exams, Project Work, and Internal Assessments.
In an effort to streamline the process for schools, the board has released subject-wise marks distribution for both Class 10 and Class 12. These guidelines are crucial for schools to follow precisely, as once marks are submitted, they cannot be changed. The total marks for each subject will be divided across theory, practicals, projects, and internal assessments, with each component adding up to 100 marks. Schools are encouraged to review the detailed list, which includes the class, subject code, subject name, and the marks allocated to each assessment, ensuring that all reporting is accurate.
In its official notification, CBSE emphasized, "The Practical Examinations/ Internal Assessments for Class 10 and 12 and the Board's Annual Theory Examinations are scheduled to start from January 1, 2025, and February 15, 2025, respectively." The notice, available on the CBSE website, offers all necessary details, and students are encouraged to regularly check for updates or directly access the notification through the provided link.
Additionally, the board has highlighted the breakdown of marks for practical and theory exams for both classes. Understanding the distribution of marks is key for students as they prepare for these exams, ensuring they focus on each component accordingly.
