The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a final reminder: the correction window for the List of Candidates (LOC) will close on April 17, 2025. Schools have been granted this critical opportunity to rectify errors in candidate information by accessing the official CBSE portal at cbse.gov.in.

The decision to open the correction facility on April 9 came after CBSE discovered that several schools had submitted incorrect or incomplete data for Class 10 students. With over 44 lakh students appearing for exams from more than 8,000 schools in India and abroad, maintaining accurate student information is essential for generating reliable results and marksheets.
What Can Be Corrected?
- Minor spelling corrections in the names of candidates and their parents
- Updates in date of birth as per official records
- Corrections in F_L_Code, gender, and single child status
- Updates to student photographs
However, complete name changes for candidates or their parents are not allowed under this correction window.
Fee for Corrections
Schools are required to pay a processing fee of ₹1000 per candidate for any corrections made. This amount must be deposited with the respective CBSE Regional Office. The fee is intended to ensure that only essential, accurate updates are submitted.
Ensuring Accuracy Ahead of Results
CBSE Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, 2025, and the results are expected soon. Once released, students will need their roll number, school number, and date of birth to access their scorecards via official CBSE websites.
Accurate LOC data is not just about clean records-it's a foundation for fair and error-free results. This process also ensures that students receive the correct marksheets and certificates without discrepancies or delays.
As the correction deadline nears, this is a crucial moment for schools to double-check their data and make necessary corrections. CBSE's initiative reflects its commitment to data accuracy, transparency, and fairness in the exam process. Schools are strongly encouraged to use this window wisely, ensuring that every student's effort is correctly represented in their final results.
