CBSE Clarifies On Pending Board Exams Of Class 10 And Class 12

CBSE has clarified that board exams are not yet cancelled for Class 10 and Class 12. Check details.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that the pending board exams of Class 10 and Class 12 will be conducted after the lockdown. The Board has released an official statement to put an end to all speculations about the cancellation of the pending CBSE board exams 2019-20. The Board has officially declared that it will be conducting the examinations of the 29 subjects as per the April 1 circular.

CBSE Board Exams Important Update

The official twitter handle of CBSE stated that 'Recently there has been a lot of speculation regarding 10th CBSE Board exams. It is reiterated that the boards decision to take board exams for 29 subjects of class 10 and 12, stands the same as mentioned in circular dated 1.4.20.'

The official board notice reads, "With regards to the conduct of Class X examinations several queries are being received by the CBSE. In this context, it is once again reiterated that remaining examinations of Class X as stated in the Press Release dated 01.4.2020 will be conducted by CBSE. It is once again clarified that adequate time of 10 days will be given to all stakeholders before starting the examinations. Therefore, there is no change in the position of holding board examinations and the position continues as per the information given vide press release dated 1.4.2020."

It also reads, "It is also informed that examinations of all the subjects of Class X and XII as mentioned in Press Release will be conducted after assessing the situation after the lockdown is over."

The Board has released a notice on April 1 regarding the pending exams. It had cancelled all pending examinations for Classes 10 and 12 for foreign students. The Class 10 examinations other than the ones for students of North East Delhi have also been cancelled. CBSE has decided to conduct only the main subjects for classes 10 and 12. The total number of CBSE subjects on which the exams would be conducted is 29.

The CBSE has also clarified that it would inform at least 10 days before re-commencing the board examination. The Board is putting its best foot forward to modify its evaluation process. Earlier, CBSE has postponed the board exams due to outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.
