CBSE Issues Advisory on Fake Agents Offering Certificates & Mark Sheets

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a public warning against fake agents and fraudulent individuals claiming to provide duplicate mark sheets, certificates, and make corrections in official records for a fee.

Beware! CBSE Warns Against Fraudulent Documents

The board clarified that all such claims are illegal and that CBSE does not authorise any third party or agent to process document requests. Students and parents have been advised to apply only through the official CBSE website (cbse.gov.in) or regional offices for obtaining duplicate academic documents, mark sheet corrections, or other official updates.

CBSE stated that it has received multiple reports of fraudsters exploiting students by promising quick services in exchange for money. The board emphasised that any corrections or issuance of duplicates are carried out strictly as per CBSE guidelines and require proper verification of the applicant's credentials. CBSE also cautioned that engaging with fake agents can lead to legal consequences for both the fraudsters and those availing their services.

The board urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant, verify the authenticity of any communication claiming CBSE affiliation, and report suspicious activities to the authorities. This move aims to protect students' academic records, maintain the integrity of the examination system, and curb the rising trend of certificate fraud.

CBSE Issues Advisory on Fake Agents Offering Certificates & Mark Sheets

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially cautioned students, parents, and the general public about the growing menace of fraudulent agents who claim they can provide duplicate mark sheets, certificates, and correction services in official academic records. This warning comes in light of several cases where unsuspecting candidates have been duped by individuals posing as CBSE representatives.

According to the CBSE statement, no individual or agency has been authorised by the board to carry out such activities on its behalf. All requests for duplicate documents, mark sheet reissuance, and corrections in certificates must be submitted directly through the official CBSE online portal or by visiting the designated regional offices. The board reiterated that any service offered outside the official channels is not only invalid but also punishable under law.

The board highlighted that fraudsters often lure students and parents by claiming they can bypass procedural requirements and provide immediate results. Many victims end up paying large sums of money, only to receive fake or invalid documents that have no recognition in official or legal settings.

CBSE stressed that all corrections and issuance of duplicate certificates involve strict verification protocols, including identity proof, original academic records, and formal application submission. Any tampering with certificates or using forged academic documents is a criminal offence and may result in legal proceedings against both the providers and the recipients.

Students have been advised to check the official CBSE website (cbse.gov.in) for updates and to follow the legitimate application procedures outlined by the board. CBSE also encouraged the public to report any suspicious offers or individuals to the nearest police station or CBSE regional office for immediate action.

This advisory forms part of CBSE's continuous efforts to uphold the credibility of its examination system, safeguard the interests of genuine candidates, and combat the growing threat of educational fraud. The board assured that strict measures are being taken to track and prosecute those involved in such illegal activities.
