A spike in Covid-19 instances in Karnataka caused the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka (KAMS) to publish a cautious recommendation. Schools in the state have been put on high notice due to an increase in Covid-19 Sub Variant JN.1 infections.

KAMS has encouraged schools to deny sick pupils access to classes. Schools have been instructed to conduct regular temperature checks, sanitise school areas, and urge kids to wear masks. As a result of the incident, some schools have begun recording temperature readings. According to the advise, pupils who become ill at school must be sent to an isolation room, given first aid, and notified of their parents.
The advise was given out to all KAMS member schools, asking them to be cautious during their visits and to adhere to the government's normal operating procedure. It has also recommended schools to carry portable oxygen cylinders in case they are needed during the journey. Because winter vacations are presently in effect and kids may be travelling, the group has encouraged schools to send out warnings to parents, advising them to avoid crowded tourist places, pilgrimage sites, and so on. "As soon as possible after vacation, take extra precautions for those students who have travelled to a different state/country," the official email to the schools stated.
