TNEA 2018: Anna University Releases Random Numbers For Counselling

Anna University counselling is going to begin during the third week of June. The TNEA 2018 random numbers will be generated today for the engineering admissions.

The random numbers for students who have applied for the Anna University counselling has been generated today (June 5, 2018). According to official sources from the university, the counselling process is likely to begin on July 6, 2018.

The random numbers generated today will be considered like a token for students to queue and appear for the counselling. It is a 10 digit number that is assigned to all registered candidates.

According to the state education minister K Anbazhagan, there has been an increase of 19000 more applications this time in comparison to 2017. Around 1.59 lakh applicants have registered and the document verification will be held in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Facilitation Centres (TFCs) between July 8, 2018 and July 14, 2018. This year, the counselling process is expected to take place completely online, providing relief for students by saving their time and energy waiting all day for their turn.

Step 1: Log on to the Anna University official website.
Step 2: Click on thelink that reads TNEA 2018 on the left-hand top side of the home page.
Step 3: A login form will be displayed on the screen.
Step 4: Enter your credentials such as application number and submit.
Step 5: TNEA random number will appear. Note it down and stay updated about your cousnelling date according to your number.

Anna University Counselling Process 2018

Anna University counselling process for TNEA 2018 comprises three stages:

  • Registration
  • Document Verification
  • Seat Allocation

The counselling process will be spread over five days. This year, 42 facilitation centres have been set up in Tamil Nadu for swift processing of document verification.

There are 535 state-recognised colleges in Tamil Nadu in which admissions will be facilitated for candidates who attend the counselling session. Random numbers were formulated in order to avoid confusion while allocating seats when two candidates of the same rank opt for the same college with insufficient seats.
