IISER PhD Admissions 2018: Apply before October 10!

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram has opened admissions for PhD Programme for the academic year 2018. Interested candidates can apply for the course now until October 10.

Eligibility

Educational qualification:

• Candidates should have got a Master's degree (A five-year degree after +2 level) in biological sciences/chemical sciences/physical sciences/ mathematics/bioinformatics/agricultural sciences/veterinary sciences or a bachelor degree in medicine.
• The applicant must have a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a scale of 10, or equivalent.
• The candidate could be eligible for DST-Inspire PhD Fellowship

Selection process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the interview.

What does the official notification read?

According to the IISER official notification, there will be two rounds of interviews, conducted over three days. In case of a high turnout of candidates (more than 75), an entrance exam will be conducted (based on Master's level biology questions for 70 per cent and class 12 level physics, math, chemistry questions-together 30 per cent) on the first day of interviews.
