AMU Centre Gains Land From Bihar Government

A varsity statement said that on Friday, the Bihar government has transferred a land of 224.02 acres in a district named Kishanganj to the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for establishing a centre in the state. On the occasion were two Bihar ministers and the local MP and the Legislator along with AMU Vice Chancellor P.K.Abdul Azis and officials, and state government officials presence had the main role.

All the possible support in providing the necessary infrastructure for the new centre, included roars, an electricity substation as well as water lines to the campus were assured by the Bihar Government.

On the occasion Prof. Abdul Azis assured that “the AMU would put the centre on the fast track and within a couple of days a consultant will be appointed to submit detailed project and finance reports so that the university can submit a suitable proposal for further steps of funding and approval.

He also added that the Kishanganj cenre project will be similar to that of the AMU Malappuram Centre and Murshidabad Centre in terms of facilities and long-term plans. The AMU Kishanganj Centre will be state-of-the-art centre of nigher education with world class facilities and technological support. But if the State Government provides temporary accommodation, the university hopes to launch some of its programmes in the next academic session itself.
