Many seek admission by ECA quota in DU
After the second cut-off list declared by Delhi University (DU), many students have got into their favourite Colleges. And, many who had already taken admission into the not so popular Colleges have withdrawn their admission and had opted for admission to the first rung Colleges.

It has been observed that general Category students have been facing a lot of turbulence with regard to admission, where as the experience of students belonging to the OBC category has been much better. Many Colleges are offering a 5-7% dip in the second cut off list, which has been a blessing for the OBC candidates.

OBC students are managing to opt course in colleges like Hindu, Ramjas, which have already closed admissions to some of the popular courses for the General Category students. The total number of seats reserved for OBC students at DU this year is 14,500.

Many students are seeking admissions through the ECA (Extra Curricular Activity) Quota. Delhi University colleges are allowed to reserve upto 5% of their seats under the ECA quota, and lot of students are trying their luck to grab a seat with this last opportunity. However, it is not easy to get a seat through ECA quota, there is huge competition to prove that the candidates are genuinely talented. Colleges are conducting upto 5 rounds of interview to filter the best candidates to offer a seat through ECA quota. The deserving candidates will only get to fill up the vacant seats.

DU is suppose to announce the Third Cut Off list on 27 June 2011.
