The University of Hyderabad invited applications for its 114 teaching posts and it has received 1,053 applications.
The University will start recruiting candidates for the aforementioned posts from November 1.

Among the applicants are those candidates who have excellent postdoctoral experience in well-known institutions across India and institutions in foreign countries.
The university will begin interviewing the applicants from November 1, 2016. The whole procedure of interview is expected to conclude by the end of December.
Filling up the vacant positions is a good news for those who are seeking jobs in the University of Hyderabad and very good for the students since they will have a smooth academic year as they will not have to face shortage of teaching staff; and ultimately, it is important for strengthening the academic and research programmes of the university.

The university was established as per the Six-Point Formula of 1973. Gurbaksh Singh, organic chemist at the Banaras Hindu University, was the first Vice-Chancellor of the University and his tenure lasted from 1974 to 1979. Shri B D Jatti was the first Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad.
