Himachal Pradesh Board Exam 2026
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, abbreviated as HPBSE; is the State Board of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. According to the Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14, of 1968, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) was established in the year 1969. The HPBSE was originally headquartered in Shimla, but later on, shifted to Dharmshala, in January 1983. Almost 8000 schools are currently associated with the Board. Each year, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education establishes 1650 testing sites for more than 500,000 test takers. The board exams for Grades 10 and 12 are likewise administered by the Himachal Board of School Education. Dr. Madhu Chaudhary (HAS) was appointed by the Himachal Pradesh government as the organization's secretary. The board's current chairman is Dr. Suresh Soni.
HPBOSE Board Exam 2026
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has officially released the HPBOSE Class 10 and Class 12 Exam Date Sheets 2026 for students appearing in the upcoming board examinations. According to the announced schedule, the HPBOSE Class 10 (Regular & SOS) exams will be conducted from 03 March 2026 to 28 March 2026, while the Class 12 (Regular & SOS) exams are scheduled from 03 March 2026 to 01 April 2026. Both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will be held in the morning session from 9:45 AM to 1:00 PM. Students can download the detailed subject-wise timetables from the official HPBOSE website — hpbose.org — for accurate exam dates and planning.
For Class 10 students, it is crucial to follow the timetable and allocate proper time for each subject to ensure thorough preparation. Regular revisions, solving previous years’ question papers, and practicing sample tests are highly recommended to strengthen conceptual understanding and exam readiness. Students appearing under the State Open School (SOS) category should also refer to the same timetable to plan their preparation efficiently. Note that some subjects listed as NSQF correspond to the National Skills Qualifications Framework, which should be reviewed carefully.
Similarly, Class 12 students must adhere to a disciplined study schedule to perform well in the board exams. Reviewing key chapters, practicing past papers, and focusing on weak areas will improve confidence and exam performance. Students are advised to check updates on admit card issuance and follow all board instructions during the exams. Every year, students in Class 10 take the HPBSE 10th Board Exam administered by HP Board. The test is given once every year. The board has chosen to hold the tests twice this year, nevertheless. Students are tested in a variety of areas during the state-level board examination, including English literature, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Science, Agriculture, etc. The board specifies the exam schedule, format, and required reading materials.
