There are EAMCET, ICET, ECET, EdCET, PGECET and many other entrance tests that confuse a lot of people. And they have to google it every time they see it only to forget again. With this in mind, we have compiled a list of almost all the entrance tests - and what they are about - that the state of Andhra Pradesh conducts: have a look!

AP EAMCET
- EAMCET stands for Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test.
- EAMCET is an entrance examination held every year in the state of Andhra Pradesh for granting students admission into various colleges in the streams of Engineering, Medicine and Agriculture.
- Who conducts the Exam: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada conducts the AP EAMCET examination on behalf of APSCHE.
- What are the cut-off marks to clear the AP EAMCET Exam: You need 25% marks which is 40 marks out of the total of 160 to clear this test. However, for students belonging to SC/ST categories, no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. But their admission will be limited to the extent of seats reserved for such categories.
AP ECET
- AP ECET stands for Andhra Pradesh State Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP ECET)
- AP ECET is an entrance examination held every year in the state of Andhra Pradesh for granting Diploma and BSc Mathematics students admission into 2nd year of Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology and Bachelor of Pharmacy courses in Colleges of Andhra Pradesh.
- Who conducts the Exam: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur conducts the AP ECET examination on behalf of APSCHE.
- The exam is structured differently for Engineering Stream and Pharmacy Stream. Within Engineering Stream, the exam format differs slightly between Diploma students and Bachelor of Science Mathematics students.
- What are the cut-off marks to clear the AP ECET Exam: One needs to score 25% of the aggregate marks for both diploma and BSc Mathematics candidates. That means that if the test is of 200 marks, you need to obtain at least 50 marks to qualify.
- However, there is no cut-off prescribed for SC/ST students until their quota gets filled. Once the quota is filled, they have to compete in the general category and achieve the minimum required marks of 25% as others.
AP ICET
- AP ICET stands for Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (APICET)
- Just like the above 2 exams, this also is a state-level entrance exam. It is held every year for giving students admission into MBA and MCA courses in colleges of Andhra Pradesh.
- Who conducts the Exam: AP ICET is conducted by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, APSCHE.
- Pattern of Exam: 200 objective-type MCQs are asked from subjects such as Analytical Ability, Mathematical Ability, and Communication Ability. And the student gets 2 hours and 30 minutes to finish the paper.
- What are the cut-off marks to clear the AP ICET Exam: The qualifying cut-off for General candidates is 50 marks out of 200; which in other words is 25% of the total marks. There are no cut-off criteria for SC/ST candidates until their quota is filled up. Thereafter they have to fight as any other candidate.
- The final admission is based on your rank achieved in the AP ICET Exam. The higher the rank, the more are chances for you to get into the college of your choice.
AP PGECET
- AP PGECET stands for Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test.
- It is a state-level entrance exam conducted every year for giving students admission into regular PG Courses in Engineering (MTech/ME), Pharmacy (M Pharma), and Architecture & Planning (M Arch/M Plan).
- Who conducts the Exam: It is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of APSCHE.
- The computer-based test is held in English medium and consists of 120 Marks. All 120 multiple-choice Objective type questions carry one mark each. The examinee gets 2 hours to complete the test.
- What are the qualifying marks to clear the exam: Admission is given based on the merit list prepared after the exam.
AP EdCET
- AP EdCET stands for Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test
- The entrance exam is held every year for giving students admission into 2-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) courses across colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
- Who conducts the Exam: It is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of APSCHE.
- What are the qualifying marks to clear the exam: Admission is given on your rank in the merit list which is prepared based on your performance in the entrance test.
AP LAWCET and AP PGLCET
- AP LAWCET is held annually for granting applicants admission into LLB courses (both regular and integrated ones) across colleges of the state.
- On the other hand, for admissions into LLM courses - AP PGLCET is conducted every year.
- Who conducts the exams: Both the entrance exams are conducted by Sri Krishnadevaraya University on behalf of APSCHE
- How many marks do we need to clear AP LAWCET and AP PGLCET Exams: Admissions are granted based on your rank on the merit list which is prepared as per your performance in the tests.
AP PECET
- AP PECET stands for Andhra Pradesh Physical Education Common Entrance Test
- Students seeking admission into 2-years Bachelor's of Physical Education and 2-year Diploma in Physical Education courses apply for this exam.
- Who conducts the exam: It is conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University on behalf of APSCHE
AP RCET
- AP RCET stands for Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance test
- This state-level entrance exam is conducted every year for granting students admission into MPhil and PhD courses across colleges and universities of Andhra Pradesh state.
- Who conducts the exam: It is conducted by Andhra University on behalf of APSCHE.
