The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted the Combined Defence Services (CDS) (II) 2019 examination on September 8. The written test was conducted to shortlist candidates for a total of 417 vacancies for courses at Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy (OTA). The CDS is an objective-type test conducted in offline mode and questions will be on General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics and English Language. Candidates who are aiming only for OTA can appear only for two sections English and General Knowledge.

The written exam held on September 8, 2019. Many candidates who appeared for the exam believe that the overall question paper was moderate to difficult level. The general knowledge section was easy to moderate. The Mathematics and English sections were moderate to difficult level. Candidates who have attempted over 70 questions out of 120 was considered as a good attempt. Questions were asked from various areas starting from current affairs to the polity.
The section can be rated as moderate level. One who has attempted around 70 questions can expect some positive result.
This section can be rated between moderate and difficult. Aspirants who have attempted over 65 questions can start drafting the plans for the next phase of the selection process.
The Commission will release the CDS (II) result in October/November. Candidates who have qualified in the written exam will be called for the SSB interview.
