In 2011, the Election Commission of India launched an initiative called National Voters Day. Dr. Manmohan Singh, the then-Prime Minister, convened a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers. This led to the foundation of National Voters' Day, which aims to find and enlist young people who have turned 18, as well as provide them with their Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC). National Voters' Day was established on January 25, to honour the foundation of The Election Commission on that date in 1950.

Meanwhile, the Assembly elections will be held in various phases in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, and Manipur in February and March this year. On March 10, the results will be revealed.
