Gandhi Jayanti (2nd October)

Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti (2nd October)

Shastri was born on October 2, 1904, in Mughalsarai to Sharada Prasad Srivastava and Ramdulari Devi, sharing his birthday with Mahatma Gandhi, who was born on October 2, 1869. He received the Bharat Ratna posthumously.

World Teachers' Day (5th October)

The International Day of the Teacher was founded in 1994 to celebrate the UNESCO/ILO Recommendation on the Status of Teachers.
