Every year on January 20, the International Day of Acceptance is observed, urging us to embrace the profound power of acceptance in our hearts. Embracing certain aspects of life, particularly acknowledging and accepting a person's disability, is crucial.

This day serves as a global initiative where individuals worldwide join hands to show support and confront the challenges associated with disabilities. The International Day of Acceptance was established to promote social acceptance of disabilities.
History of International Day of Acceptance
The International Day of Acceptance (IDOA) is a meaningful awareness initiative rooted in a touching backstory. On January 20, 2009, Annie passed away unexpectedly during a routine medical procedure, leaving a lasting impact on her friends, family, and the symbol of acceptance she helped create. Annie's brother, Stevie Hopkins, a co-founder of 3E Love with her, honored her selfless efforts after her passing.
In 2010, on the first anniversary of Annie's death, Stevie and his family initiated an annual celebration of her life and work. The day encourages participation in various ways, from drawing the symbol on hands or cheeks to ordering buttons and T-shirts or changing social media profile pictures to the logo for the day.
Each year, organizations, companies, and individuals commemorate the International Day of Acceptance by changing their social media profile pictures, spreading awareness of a remarkable girl and her inspiring philosophy.
