The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) panel proposed that the upcoming batch of books be printed as "Bharat" rather than "India," and all of its members unanimously agreed. One of the 25 panels working on altering or amending the content of NCERT books is this one.
The name change would be present in the new NCERT books, according to CI Issac, one of the panelists. Issac stated that the suggestion, which was made months ago, had finally been approved. The NCERT panel's recommendation was made in the midst of a discussion about changing the name of the nation to "Bharat." This started earlier this year when the Centre sent invitations to President Droupadi Murmu's G20 dinner in the name of "President of Bharat" rather than "President of India," setting off a political controversy.

According to Article 1(1) of the Constitution, "India, that is, Bharat, shall be a Union of States" is the name of our nation. In September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the G20 Leaders Summit in the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi's Pragati Maidan while the nameplate "Bharat" was on the table. 'Bharat' was displayed on a sign as Prime Minister Modi gave his opening remarks at the summit, as seen in videos and images that were extensively circulated on social media.
Other Recommendations By Ncert Panel
The NCERT committee has also suggested that "Hindu victories" be highlighted in the curriculum. Additionally, it has been advised that "classical history" be introduced in place of "ancient history" in the textbooks.
According to Isaac, history would no longer be split into the ancient, medieval, and modern periods as the British did, which depicted India as being in the dark and ignorant of scientific advancement and understanding. The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) should be included in the curriculum for every subject, according to the committee's recommendation.
