IBPS RRB Exam Pattern

The selection process for Officers (Scale-I, II & III) will be done through a three-tiered process that consists of the preliminary examination, the main examination and an interview. However, the final allotment for the Office Assistant post will be based on the online main examination.

The online preliminary examination will be conducted only for the Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale-I. Candidates (for both posts) have to qualify in both the tests by securing at least the minimum cut-off marks. The adequate number of candidates in each category, depending on requirements, will be shortlisted for online main examination.

There will be a penalty for wrong answers in both the preliminary examination and the main examination. 0.25 mark will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answer question. If a question is left blank, there will be no penalty.

Understand The Cut-off Score

For Office Assistants (Multipurpose), the provisional allotment will be based on the marks obtained in the main examination. For scale-I, II & III, every candidate has to obtain a minimum score in each test of the online main examination to be shortlisted for the interview.

Approximately, three candidates will be called for a single vacancy in the interview process. Prior to the interview process, scores obtained in the online main examination will not be shared with the candidates.

Read The Notification Clearly

IBPS has clearly mentioned the educational requirements and other prerequisites in the official notification for the Officer (Scale-I, II & III) and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts. Prior to the application, aspirants are suggested to read the notification meticulously to avoid ambiguity during the exam preparation. Experience is not required for the Officer Scale-I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose). However, for the Officers Scale-II (General Banking Officers) and Specialist Officers, experience is required.

Know The Positions In Scale-II (Specialist Officers)

The Specialist Officer position consists of various positions such as Information Technology Officer, Chartered Accountant, Law Officer, Treasury Manager, Marketing Officer and Agriculture Officer. Approximately, one year of experience is required for most of the positions. Hence, we suggest you to verify whether you are eligible or not for the position prior to the application process.
