Chirag Paswan, a rising political leader and the son of the late Ram Vilas Paswan, has had an intriguing career trajectory, moving from academics to Bollywood and finally settling in politics. As the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, his journey is marked by notable shifts.

Educational Background
Chirag Paswan completed his schooling under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in Delhi in 2003. Following this, he pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Engineering at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Jhansi, affiliated with Bundelkhand University. However, he did not complete the degree, as he left his studies during the third semester in 2005.
Despite his early interest in engineering, Paswan found himself drawn toward the entertainment industry before finally settling in politics.
Brief Stint in Bollywood
After dropping out of engineering, Chirag Paswan made an attempt at acting. In 2011, he debuted in the Bollywood movie "Miley Naa Miley Hum", where he played the lead role opposite actress Kangana Ranaut. However, the film did not perform well at the box office, and his acting career was short-lived.
Entry into Politics
Leaving Bollywood behind, Chirag Paswan entered politics in 2014. Contesting from the Jamui constituency in Bihar, he won his first election as a candidate from the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), a party founded by his father. Over time, he became an influential leader, eventually forming the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) after internal disputes within the party. His leadership was recognized when he was appointed Union Minister of Food Processing Industries in June 2024.
