CBSE Class 12 English elective –ncert Syllabus for 2026-27

The course is intended to give students with a high level of English proficiency, with a focus on literary literature study. Students will be exposed to a diverse range of rich texts from foreign literature as well as Indian writings in English, including classics; they will develop sensitivity to the creative and inventive use of English; and they will develop a love of reading with delight and discernment. The primary goal of the course is to prepare students for future study in English literature and language at the college level. CBSE very well understands the need and necessities of students and therefore; inculcates the syllabus of English Elective in a very effective manner. The candidates who will be appearing for the Class 12 Examination, are expected to thoroughly go through the syllabus of English Elective in advance of their academic session.
