Seven Indian students were awarded the MBDA-ISAE scholarship for being part of a two-year master's programme at the French university Institut Superieur de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace (ISAE) situated in Toulouse, France. After completing the course, the students will be awarded MSc in Aerospace, Mechanics and Avionics
The function was held at the New Delhi residence of the Ambassador of France to India, Francois Richier.
The students who were awarded scholarships aref five men and two women, who are graduates from different Indian institutions. These students will be studying along with other students from all over the world. This is the first batch of students who have been awarded scholarships under this scheme.
MBDA, a world leader in missiles and missile systems, is a multi-national group with 10,000 employees working across France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United States. It has three major aeronautical and defence shareholders. The MBDA and the ISAE has signed a sponsorship agreement, setting up an Indian scholarship programme in France. Between 2014 and 2017, this programme will contribute towards the financing of 24 students and young aeronautical professionals from India, enabling them to undertake Masters studies at ISAE.
