A notable feature of DTU UG and PG programs is that DTU is laying a high emphasis on synergy between science and engineering. Its newly introduced programs like Engineering Physics, Mathematics and Computing at UG level, Microwave and Optical Communication, Nano Science and Technology, VLSI Design and Embedded System, Software Engineering, Information systems and Bio-Informatics at PG levels are designed to provide a profound understanding of the science base of modern engineering alongside with an application bias for design and development of advanced engineering.

Prof. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of DTU said, "with its focus on industry relevance and strong interface of science and engineering, the DTU UG and PG programs are aimed at preparing the engineers of tomorrow. Our thrust is on quality of education and on culture of research and innovation right from UG onwards".

The 15 UG programs of the University include conventional disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical Engineering and also the Applied Engineering disciplines such as Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Environmental Engineering,Software Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering,Polymer Science and Chemical Technology and Mathematics and Computing.
