CAT (Common Admission Test)

CAT is the most famous management entrance exam. It is conducted annually for admissions into management courses for post-graduation in all the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and other management institutes across the nation. Over 2 lakh students take this test each year.

Exam pattern:
The test comprises of two sections:

  • Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
  • Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.
  •  

    Eligibility:
    Candidate should have a minimum of 50% or equivalent CGPA in graduation.

      GAMT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test)
       

      GAMT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test)

      Although GMAT is an international aptitude test, it still is popular among the Indian MBA aspirants. It is taken by students to gain admissions to international B-schools across the world. GMAT is Computer Adaptive Test (the level of difficulty of a question will depend on your accuracy of answering the previous question) and not a computer-based test.

      Exam pattern:
      There are 4 sections in the GMAT exam:

      • Analytical Writing Assessment
      • Integrated Reasoning
      • Quantitative
      • Verbal
      • Eligibility:
        Any graduate in any discipline from a recognised university can take the exam. The candidate must be a minimum 18 years of age.

        XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

        XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

        It is a national level management entrance exam conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur. XAT is taken to gain admissions to XLRI Jamshedpur and other Xavier Associate Management Institutes and more than 100 B-schools in India.

        Exam pattern:
        The exam will consist of two parts- Paper 1 and Paper 2.

        • Paper 1 is objective paper with multiple choice questions. The sections of this paper are Verbal Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness.
        • Paper 2 is Essay writing.
        • Eligibility:

          • Candidates who have aggregate lesser than 50% in the graduation final examination too can apply.
          • Final year graduation students can also take the exam
          • MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

            MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

            MAT (Management Aptitude Test):

            All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts MAT entrance exam for admissions to MBA & PGDM programmes in Management colleges across India.

            Exam pattern:
            1) MAT is an objective type test contains five sections of each 40 questions with time duration of 150 minutes.
            2)There is a deduction of one fourth mark in case of negative marking for each wrong answer.
            3)Five Sections are:

            • Language Comprehension
            • Mathematical skills
            • Data Interpretation
            • Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
            • Indian & Global Environment
            • Eligibility:
              Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from any of the recognised universities. Final year students of graduate courses can also apply.

              CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)

              All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi conducts CMAT admissions to Management programmes in colleges approved by AICTE across the country.

              Exam pattern:
              1) The exam comprises of four sections of 100 marks each, and each section will have a total of 25 questions.

              • Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
              • Logical Reasoning
              • Language Comprehension
              • General Awareness
              • 2)There shall be negative marking for wrong answers, for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted.

                Eligibility:
                Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from any recognised university.

                ATMA (AIMS Test For Management Admissions)

                ATMA (AIMS Test For Management Admissions)

                Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS), Hyderabad conducts ATMA for Management programmes admissions in its participating institutes across India. ATMA entrance test will be conducted multiple times in a year.

                Exam Pattern:
                1) It is a computer-based multiple choice question type exam. Each question will have 4 choices or options from which candidates have to choose 1 correct option.
                2) The duration of ATMA is 180 minutes or 3 hours.
                3) There are 3 areas which are divided into six sections. This refers that each area will have 2 sections each.
                4)The testing areas are:

                • Analytical Reasoning Skills
                • Verbal Skills
                • Quantitative Skills
                • 5) Each section has 30 questions, making the total number of questions 180.
                  6) Each correct question will have 1 mark and for each wrong answer, there is negative marking scheme of 1/3 marks.

                  Eligibility:
                  Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from any of the recognised universities

                  NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test)

                  NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test)

                  Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai conducts NMAT for admissions into Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes.

                  Exam Pattern:
                  NMAT contains 120 minute test with three sections, The three sections are:

                  • Language Skills: 32 questions in 22 minutes
                  • Quantitative Skills: 48 questions in 60 minutes
                  • Logical Reasoning: 40 questions in 38 minutes
                  • Eligibility:
                    Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% of marks from a recognised university.

                    SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)

                    SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)

                    Symbiosis International University (SIU), Pune conducts SNAP for admissions into Postgraduate Management programmes of the university.

                    Exam pattern:
                    1)Duration of the test is 120 minutes.
                    2)SNAP is an objective test. Each question has 4 responses. Candidate should choose an appropriate response.
                    3)Each wrong answer attracts 25% negative marks.
                    4)SNAP contains four sections.

                    • General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability
                    • Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency
                    • General Awareness: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Business Scenario
                    • Analytical & Logical Reasoning.
                    • Eligibility:
                      Graduates in any discipline from any statutory University, with minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) would be eligible to apply for all the Master of Business Administration programmes, except for the Programme which requires graduates with specific subject specialisations.

                      IBSAT (IBS Aptitude Test)

                      ICFAI University conducts IBSAT for admissions into the Management programmes.

                      Exam pattern:
                      1) Duration of the test is 2 hours.
                      2) The test will be based on the following:

                      • Quantitative techniques
                      • Data interpretation
                      • Data adequacy
                      • Vocabulary
                      • Analytical reasoning
                      • Reading comprehension
                      • Eligibility:
                        Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree with 50% of marks in any discipline from a recognised university.

                        IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade)

                        Government of India set up IIFT in 1963 an autonomous organisation to aid India's foreign trade management. Today it is one of the most prestigious B-schools in India.

                        Exam pattern:
                        1) Duration of the test is 2 hours.
                        2) Objective type
                        3) Contains four sections:

                        • English Comprehension
                        • Logical Reasoning
                        • Quantitative Analysis
                        • General Knowledge and Awareness
                        • Eligibility:
                          Candidates with Bachelor's degree in any discipline of Engineering/Technology or a Master's degree with 1st class or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks can apply.
