IBPS Clerk prelims are on October 10 and 11, 2026. Candidates now need clear rules, must-carry documents and a lean scoring plan. The call-letter window runs October 1 to October 11. IBPS lists it alongside the 2026–27 exam calendar.
Carry a printed admit card, a spare photo, original ID and its stapled photocopy. IBPS asks you to bring a “photocopy of photo identity proof stapled with it”. Accepted IDs include PAN, passport, driving licence, voter card, Aadhaar or employee ID.

Reach the centre well before reporting time; security and verification take minutes. Call letters state you must “report at the exam venue strictly as per the time slot”. IBPS may use biometric or Aadhaar checks. Your ID name must match application and call letter exactly.
Bring only exam documents and a simple pen if permitted by your centre. Calculators, mobile phones, books, smartwatches or devices with storage are barred. Rough sheets will be provided at your desk; write on them only. After the exam, drop all rough sheets in the designated box.
Prelims has 100 questions in 60 minutes with sectional timers of 20 minutes each. English has 30 questions; Numerical and Reasoning have 35 each. A wrong answer attracts a penalty of one fourth of the assigned marks. Favour accuracy over volume to protect marks.
IBPS equates corrected scores across shifts to handle difficulty differences between sessions. That means a hard shift can see upward adjustment, while easier shifts may normalise downward. Focus on accuracy and stable speed, not speculative guessing, to protect equated scores.
If the system freezes or power fails, stay seated; call the invigilator immediately. Do not restart; centres can restore your session and timer. For name changes, carry Gazette, marriage certificate or affidavit. Your ID must bear the same name “as it appears on the call letter”.
Visit the venue once beforehand, and reach early on exam day to avoid denial. Keep your authenticated prelims call letter and stamped ID photocopy safe for mains. IBPS Clerk mains is scheduled for December 27, 2026; shift‑wise analysis updates will appear here after each shift.
