This is one job that will have a lot of human interactions. Thus, you must have very good communication skills. If you know more than one language, the same will come in handy in this profession. You should be able to think on your feet and handle contingencies as and when they appear.

For this, you need good critical thinking abilities. Other than that, you must have a lot of patience while dealing with people. At the end of the day, since you are managing the entire process, if anything goes wrong you should be ready to take up the blame for the same. Although most of the jobs in this field are in the private sector, you may also choose amongst the various government organisations as well. There are many organisations that hire third-party logistics in order to get their work done. An average postgraduate degree holder in this field starts off with a salary that is close to Rs 3.5 lakhs. The value is higher for people who are working in the retail chain logistics department. Those people start off with a salary that is close to Rs 4 lakhs and with experience they may earn as much as Rs 15 lakhs.
