Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process:
For the Agniveer position in the Indian Army, candidates must be between 17 ½ - 23 years old. They must have passed 10th grade with at least 45% marks. The selection process includes physical, medical tests, and a written exam.
In the Indian Navy, candidates for the Agniveer position must be between 17 ½ - 23 years old and have passed 10+2 with 60% marks. The selection process includes a physical test and a written exam.
In the Indian Air Force, candidates for the Agniveer position must be between 17 and 21 years old. They need to have completed 10+2 with 50% marks. The selection process includes a physical test and a written exam.
Salary Structure and Benefits:
Candidates selected for the Agniveer position will receive a monthly salary. In the first year, they will get ₹30,000, which increases to ₹33,000 in the second year. By the third year, the salary goes up to ₹36,500, and in the fourth year, it reaches ₹40,000.
After completing their four-year tenure, Agniveers will receive a skill certificate and a title. They will also get a Seva Nidhi package of ₹10.4 lakhs. In the event of death, their next of kin will receive insurance worth ₹48 lakhs.
Post-Tenure Opportunities:
After the four-year tenure, the forces will conduct an internal examination. Only 25% of the candidates will be retained and offered permanent positions. The rest will receive the Seva Nidhi package and have their service terminated.
