Sir C.V. Raman Scholarship For UG Basic Science Students in Karnataka

The Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka offers Sir C.V. Raman student scholarship for talented and meritorious students who are pursuing their education in basic sciences in government and private aided degree colleges.

This scholarship was launched in the year 2001-2002 and is focused on encouraging students studying in science stream.

Details of Sir C.V. Raman student scholarship:

• Meritorious students studying basic sciences in government and private aided degree colleges will awarded a scholarship amount of Rs. 5000 every year.
• Candidates who have passed with high marks in their 11 year PUC Examination are eligible for the scholarship
• Also, candidates who have taken up B.Sc course in their undergraduate programme should have taken 2 subjects as basic science.
• Scholarship shall be provided to the students who should have passed the semester examination in one attempt.

In the year 2013-14 the government released Rs. 97 lakhs for this scholarship. Out of this, Rs. 39 lakhs was reserved under SCP/TSP plan for students belonging to the SC/ST category.
