MHRD AICTE SSCG Scholarship for Girls To Pursue Technical Education

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Human Resource Department have released an official notification, inviting candidates to apply for the girl child scholarship scheme. The name of the scholarship is AICTE-Scholarship Scheme to Girl Child (SSGC). This is offered under Pragati 2017-18.

Scholarship objective

The girl child scholarship aims to empower women through technical education. AICTE is providing assistance for the advancement of girls.

Scholarship amount

Tuition fee worth INR 30,000 or actual, whichever is less. INR 2000 p.m. for 10 months as incidental charges. Reimbursement worth INR 30,000 for a purchase of software, books, equipment, vehicle, laptop, desktop, etc.

Eligibility

Educational qualification

The applicant should be admitted to the first year of degree or diploma course in any of the AICTE approved institution.

Birth qualification

Only two girl children per family are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Income certificate

Family income must not be above 8L p.a. during the preceding financial year.

Reserved category

Reservations are also offered to the candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribe and other backward castes, with 15 per cent, 7.5 per cent and 27 per cent, respectively.

Selection process

The selection of the applicant will be made on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination to pursue their technical degree or diploma course from any of the AICTE approved institution.

Ministry of Human Resource and Development is providing a total of 4000 scholarships i.e. 2000 for degree courses and 2000 for the diploma under this scheme.
