IIT-Bombay introduces scholarships for undergraduate, postgraduate students
IIT Bombay offers a variety of scholarships to support both postgraduate and undergraduate students, ensuring financial barriers do not hinder their academic pursuits. These scholarships are provided by private entities, government bodies, and the institute itself, catering to the diverse needs of the student body.
Postgraduate Scholarships
Private Scholarships for Postgraduates:
SJM School of Management Endowment Scholarship:
- Rs 28,000 monthly for the first two years.
- Rs 31,000 per month thereafter.
EAT Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Scholarship:
- Rs 30,000 per month initially.
- Rs 35,000 per month after two years.
- Rs 1,50,000 for conferences.
SERB Scholarship:
- USD 2,000 monthly.
- Includes a contingency grant and travel fare.
Dr. Gargi Vishnoi Memorial Scholarship:
Specific to the Biosciences and Bioengineering Department.
- Rs 2,000 monthly.
Government Scholarships for Postgraduates:
NBHM Scholarship:
- Rs 31,000 per month after two years.
- Includes a contingency grant.
DBT-JRF and DBT-SRF Scholarships:
- Rs 31,000 per month initially.
- Rs 35,000 per month after two years.
- Includes a contingency allowance.
DST-INSPIRE Scholarship:
- Similar financial support as DBT-JRF/SRF.
ICMR Scholarship:
Offers the same financial support as DBT-JRF/SRF and DST-INSPIRE.
DAE Scholarship:
- Rs 35,000 per month.
- Tuition fee reimbursement and other allowances.
AERB and MERC Scholarships:
Provide financial assistance, cover tuition fees, and offer additional allowances.
MPCB Scholarship:
- Rs 8,000 monthly.
Scholarships for Master of Science Students
Master of Science students at IIT Bombay can benefit from merit-cum-means scholarships. Additionally, there are specific scholarships for M.Sc-Ph.D. (Dual Degree) students and named private scholarships, further easing their financial burdens.

Rs 6,000 monthly.
Institute Scholarships:

National Scholarships:
National Talent Search Scholarship (NTS):
- Awarded to students who received it during their 10+2 education.

- Continuation of these scholarships requires satisfactory academic performance and regular attendance.
- Financial eligibility is determined based on parental income.
- Students receiving these scholarships are not allowed to accept any other financial aid from government or private sources.
