Indian students who are aiming to pursue their masters or doctoral programmes for free in the United Kingdom (UK) can apply for the 2019 Commonwealth Scholarship tenable in the United Kingdom. The courses will commence from September/October 2019.

 

The Scholarships are offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), UK. The scholarships are offered only to Commonwealth Master's Scholarships (for low and middle-income Commonwealth countries) and Commonwealth PhD Scholarships (for low and middle-income Commonwealth countries).

Commonwealth Scholarships 2019

The prospective international students from India are required to apply online for the scholarship through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) portal by January 10, 2019. One can also apply through Commonwealth Scholarship Commission's Electronic Application System (EAS) by December 19, 2018.

The official notice clearly stated that only 52 nominations would to be made, out of which 13 nominations would be for PhD. Candidates are advised to visit the official website for the specific terms and conditions in respect of Masters and PhD scholarships available on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission's website.

While coming to the eligibility conditions for applying, candidates who have received the offer of admission, from any of the university listed with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission are only eligible to apply.

Candidates who have received an offer of admission from any participating universities must upload a copy of the same at the time of online application. The system would automatically generate the subject/theme wise list of students along with the name of the University. In case, there are more number of students than the available nominations, in that scenario, 'QS Ranking 2019' would be taken to draw the merit list.
