The Bharti Airtel Foundation has introduced the 'Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program' to support students from various socio-economic backgrounds. This merit-cum-means scholarship is aimed at those pursuing technology-based undergraduate engineering and integrated programmes in the top 50 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) colleges, including IITs.

The scholarship targets students with an annual family income not exceeding Rs 8.5 lakh, with a particular focus on women students. Starting with 250 recipients eligible for admission in August 2024, the program aims to expand its reach to 4,000 scholars, with an annual outlay of over ₹100 crore as it progresses.
This initiative will cover courses in electronics and communication, telecom, information technology, computer sciences, data sciences, and emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning, and Robotics. The scholarship ensures that financial barriers do not hinder access to quality education for deserving students.
Recipients of this scholarship, known as 'Bharti Scholars,' will receive full coverage of their college fees throughout their course duration. Additionally, they will be provided with a laptop and hostel and mess fees for eligible students who apply for it.
The program encourages 'Bharti Scholars' to support at least one student voluntarily once they graduate and secure employment. This initiative aims to shape lives and enable youth to participate in India's economic growth.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises and Co-Chairman of Bharti Airtel Foundation, stated, "The selected institutes have always showcased a confluence of exemplary learning and accessible education to students across different strata. Our endeavour is to strengthen these tenets in Indian academia towards nurturing professionals equipped to handle the dynamic evolution of the technological landscape of tomorrow."
