Banaras Hindu University (BHU), under its Pratidana initiative, has received donations that have enabled the establishment of three new scholarships. These scholarships will benefit students from the Faculty of Education, Central Hindu Boys School, and Central Hindu Girls School. Funded by corporate leader Rahul Srivastava, the scholarships honor his relatives: Bindhyachal Devi, Madan Mohan Prasad, and Bimla Srivastava.

The Bindhyachal Devi scholarship provides a Rs 25,000 annual award to a first-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) special education student at the Faculty of Education. The Madan Mohan Prasad and Bimla Srivastava scholarships offer Rs 5,000 annually to one student each from class 10 at Central Hindu Boys School and Central Hindu Girls School, respectively. These scholarships will be awarded based on merit and financial need.
The Pratidana initiative of BHU aims to mobilize support from alumni and well-wishers to establish scholarships for deserving students, provide need-based financial aid, enhance learning opportunities, and promote excellence in teaching.
According to an official press release, Rahul Srivastava met with BHU Vice-Chancellor Sudhir Kumar Jain and conveyed his family's admiration for the university and its role in education and citizenship. The vice-chancellor acknowledged Srivastava's generosity and expressed gratitude for his family's contribution.
