Thapar University, Patiala invites applications for its 9th summer training programme on 'Industrial Biotechnology' for the academic year 2014. This programme is organised by the Department of Biotechnology of Thapar University. Eligible students can apply by visiting the official website of the university.
This programme is an intensive hands on training, imparting technical knowledge, management and developing entrepreneurial skills in different areas of biotechnology. The participants in the training will be interacting with experts in their fields and will get practical experience of various modern techniques along with in depth understanding of underlying principles. Experiments will be conducted in small groups under expert supervision. Participants will individually follow experimental protocols and demonstrationexperiments and will get an entrepreneurial exposure and motivation in industrial biotechnology. STEP (Science and Technology Entrepreneur's Park) has pilot scale facility for biofertiliser and biopesticide production, food processing, biowaste recycling, algal multilplication, mushroom cultivation, neem pesticide production, soy milk and soy paneer processing and natural wine and vinegar production.
