IIT Bombay launches its three MOOCs

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay has launched its first three MOOC (Massive Open Online Course).

The MOOC courses are;

  • Introduction of Computer Programming (Part one)
  • Thermodynamics
  • Introduction of Computer Programming (Part two)

The first two courses are scheduled to commence from July 2014. The third course will commence from September 2014.

There is no eligibility criteria as such to pursue these courses and thus can be pursued by anyone.

The courses will be offered via sessions grouped into several themes or topics and every session will be divided into two to four 15-20 minute ‘episodes.' Subsequently, each episode, will encompass a video recorded lecture of about 8-10 minutes, followed by some practice problems /quizzes.

Students will be eligible to receive an honor code certificate or for audit free of cost for the initial offerings.

Interested aspirants who wish to obtain a Verified Certificate of Achievement at the end of the course will have to pay a charge of Rs.1500/-.
