IIEST, Shibpur conducts 2 - day workshop

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur is all set to conduct a two-day workshop on Advances in the Design and Construction of Bituminous Pavements from May 27-28, 2014.

The workshop is organised by the Department of Civil Engineering at IIEST, Shibpur and it focuses on the different issues regarding design and construction of flexible pavements. The presentation in the workshop involves updates on different aspects of implementation in bituminous roads which include (i) Experiments with asphalt pavements, (ii)Pavement design for low volume roads (iii) Asphalt mix design of dense graded mixes with RAP. The tentative experts who are likely to share their profound knowledge with the field engineers, faculty members and scholars include: Prof. B. B. Pandey, IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Animesh Das, IIT Kanpur, Prof. Mahabir Panda, NIT, Rourkela, Prof. Sudip Kumar Roy, IIEST, Shibpur, Engr. Rajib Chattaraj, Highway Division, PWD, West Bengal. In the penultimate session, a panel discussion will be held which will be graced by renowned field engineers of West Bengal.

Registration fee: For Research scholars/PG Students, the fee is INR 200. For Faculty, the fee is INR 400 and for Delegates from Public/Private Organisations, the fee is INR 600.

Interested candidates must send in a cheque/DD in favour of ‘BESUS-TEQIP-II Account' payable at Kolkata along with the attached registration form provided in the official website

Last day to submit registration form and fee is 20th May, 2014.
