For over twenty years, Boston University's Center for Professional Education has offered programs designed to provide essential skills for success in the paralegal field. The Paralegal Studies Program emphasises expertise in writing, research, and technology core skills that are valued and sought after in all areas of law.
Over fourteen weeks, students learn comprehensive legal theory from Boston University's experienced scholar, teachers, who, as practicing attorneys, bring real-life experiences to the program. Upon completion of the program, students receive a certificate in Paralegal Studies from Boston University.
Available on campus or online, the Paralegal Studies Program covers the following topics:
- Legal Research
- Legal Writing and Reasoning
- Technology and the Paralegal
- Real Estate
- Corporate Law
- Probate and Family Law
- classroom-based curriculum.
- online curriculum.
The classroom program is offered on Saturdays in Boston each September, January, March, and June (in an intensive format). The online program is offered six times a year.
Students must have a strong command of the English language. While a bachelor's degree is not required, Boston University recommend either a bachelor's degree, or significant related work experience.
