Zerodha-backed firm offers jobs to UPSC aspirants who couldn't crack the exam

In a heartening gesture, Ditto Insurance, a promising tech venture backed by Nithin Kamath of Zerodha, has reached out to individuals who narrowly missed success in the 2023 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams.

Zerodha-backed firm offers jobs to UPSC aspirants

Acknowledging the dedication and effort invested by aspirants in one of India's most challenging tests, Ditto Insurance has unveiled a customized hiring process tailored specifically for former UPSC candidates. Bhanu Harish Gurram, co-founder of Ditto Insurance, expressed empathy for those who fell short in the rigorous UPSC selection process. He recognized the immense effort exerted by aspirants, highlighting that despite their dedication, only a small fraction succeed in securing a position each year.

"Over 12,00,000 people sit for UPSC Prelims every year, but around 800 get through. More than 99% of aspirants fail. I have personally seen a few people in my network who've spent over 3-4 years attempting the exam over and over in the hopes that they would make it through," he shared on X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn.

With a vision to offer a new avenue of opportunity, Gurram encouraged former UPSC aspirants to consider roles within Ditto Insurance's advisory team. Gurram reassured aspirants that prior work experience is not necessary for joining Ditto Insurance. "You can join our insurance advisory team at @joinditto, we'll guide you every step of the way, starting from square one. No prior experience is required," he affirmed.

On April 16, the UPSC announced the final outcomes of the Civil Services Examination.
A total of 1016 candidates have received recommendations for appointment to various prestigious positions, including Indian Administrative Services, Indian Foreign Services, Indian Police Services, and Central Services.
