XAT is one of the most prestigious national-level MBA entrance examinations and is conducted annually by Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). The examination is conducted for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes offered by XLRI and over 160 participating management institutes across the country.
XAT 2026 Exam Overview
The XAT 2026 examination was conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, and all questions were asked in the English language. The exam tested candidates on key management aptitude areas including Verbal & Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. As per the revised exam pattern, there was no essay writing section in XAT 2026.

XAT 2026 Cut-Off and Admission Process
After the declaration of results, XLRI and other participating institutes will announce their XAT 2026 cut-off percentiles. Candidates meeting the cut-off criteria will be shortlisted for the next stages of the admission process, which typically include Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT), depending on the institute.
XLRI Jamshedpur uses XAT scores for admission to flagship programmes such as PGDM in Business Management (BM) and PGDM in Human Resource Management (HRM). Other institutes also accept XAT scores for admission to their management programmes.
