World University Rankings: According to the QS Rankings, IIT-Delhi has been ranked among the top 50 engineering institutions in the world. Out of the 158 Indian entries, 11 Institutes of Eminence (IoE) make up 44% and have 35 out of the top 100 Indian positions across 54 academic disciplines and in five broad faculty areas. The QS Rankings evaluate institutions based on their individual programs and compare them to other programs worldwide to determine their subject ranking.

The QS Rankings has released its 13th edition of the World University Rankings by Subject, evaluating over 15,700 individual programs at 1,594 universities across 93 locations worldwide. The rankings cover 54 academic disciplines and five broad faculty areas, with Indian universities performing well in computer science, chemistry, biological sciences, business studies, and physics. In total, 66 Indian universities have achieved 355 entries, with 44% of the entries coming from the 11 Institutes of Eminence (IoE). The IoE have 35 of the top 100 Indian positions across the 54 academic disciplines and the five broad faculty areas. The QS Rankings evaluate institutions based on research publications, academic reputation, employer reputation, and H-Index, among other parameters.
